昨日は運動再開の日！一ヶ月の里帰りの間、当然前橋のジムを休みました。久しぶりにプールのアクアビックに参加したら、がっかりするぐらい体力が減っていました。でもそれが一番の問題ではないです。アクアビックに使う音楽はインストラクターによって変わりますが、必ずと言っていいほど、Bay City RollersのSaturday Nightが含まれます。三ヶ月以上自分の頭にいついてしまったSaturday Nightがアメリカに行っている間、段々と消えてしまいました。でも、昨日から私の脳の下宿人が帰ってきました。もっと品の良い、歌って恥ずかしくない曲だったらいいのにね。

I finally got back to my beloved Holiday Sports after a month on “low activity” setting. I went to an Aquabics class yesterday and was dismayed at how the strength I had built up over the months before had disappeared. Even more than that, however, is the dismay at the return of my own personal ear worm. Each and every Aquabics tape includes “Saturday Night,” a 70s hit by the Bay City Rollers. It moved into my brain last November, and reveled in reminding me of its presence every twenty minutes or so until I left for the States in February. I didn’t miss it at all. In fact, I enjoyed the lack of it. Yesterday, though, on my very first trip back to the gym, I heard it at least three times. And now it is back again to stay: “I I I I just can’t wait, I I I I got a date!”
