Pink! My favorite color! 誕生日のケーキは好きなピンク色
Manna Frances made a cake for my birthday again this year. My husband was given TWELVE boxes of strawberries by the mother of one of his students who grows them. (If you ever need a reason NOT to live in Tokyo, the abundance of fresh produce one receives as gifts out in the countryside is an excellent one.) Manna Frances then proceeded to make something with strawberries in it every day for about ten days. We finally polished off the last ones this evening. Yum! (A daughter who cooks is not a bad deal either!)
今年もまなフランシスが私の誕生日にケーキを作ってくれた。私の好きな色はピンク、好きな果物はいちごというなんとも言えない乙女チックな好みです。先日、主人は生徒のお母さんからイチゴを12パックをいただきました。それ以来、毎日まなフランシスはイチゴ料理を作っています。今日で最後の最後のいちごを食べました。しかし、新鮮な果物と野菜をたくさんいただけるのは東京でできるものではないですね。田舎の利点です。（料理が好きな娘は南向きの利点！）

Happy birthday cousin!
How’s that for a surprise? Mom passed on your blog link a while back and I’ve been checking our yours and Manna’s posts. It took me a while to figure out Google had a translate function so it’s only recent I’ve been able to read what Manna is typing.
